Arsenal sent a message to title rivals Liverpool that they will not give up in the race to be crowned Premier League champions.

Ian Wright hailed Arsenal’s clinical finishing against Manchester City as the Gunners fired five past Pep Guardiola’s side to stay within six points of Liverpool in the Premier League.

Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri both broke a Premier League record by scoring against the defending champions as Arsenal fans lauded the performance of Lewis-Skelly.

The Arsenal academy duo have given a huge lift to Mikel Arteta’s depleted squad in recent weeks and former academy coach Jack Wilshere was in attendance at the Emirates Stadium to watch the young stars.

Jack Wilshere congratulates Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri following performances against Man City

Jack Wilshere played a huge part in the development of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly and was in attendance to watch both star for the Arsenal first team squad.

Wilshere was full of praise for the young duo but also pointed to the work done at Hale End in producing footballers that are ready to shine for Arteta’s side.

The former England international highlighted the guidance given to young players from the Arsenal academy and how it helps their graduates go on to produce in big matches for the club.

Bukayo Saka is another recent Hale End graduate who has taken the football world by storm and the Gunners are reaping the rewards of investing time, money and effort into the next generation.

Wilshere also congratulated Arsenal on their recent FA Youth Cup victory

Wilshere left Arsenal in October 2024 to further his coaching career as Norwich’s assistant manager but he is still keeping tabs on the North London side.

Wilshere congratulated Adam Birchall on Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup win over Fulham, where the U18 side eventually held on for a 2-1 win.

Max Dowman had a mixed night as he scored but missed a second half penalty and many inside the club believe that he could be the next breakthrough star from the Hale End conveyor belt.

Arsenal now await their opponents in the quarter final of the FA Youth Cup hoping to lift the trophy for the first time since 2009 – ironically a final in which Wilshere scored in.
