Jamie Carragher now has one question for Arsenal after 3-1 Bayern Munich win

Arsenal are the team to beat in Europe, sending a warning to the Champions League with a 3-1 win over Bayern Munich.

The Gunners are the only side in the Champions League to remain unbeaten this season, handing Bayern their first defeat of the entire campaign in the process.

Arsenal punished Bayern from set-pieces, but it was in the second half when the North Londoners really turned things up.

Bayern couldn’t cope with the Emirates atmosphere, reinforcing how good things are around N5 right now, but Jamie Carragher is resisting living in the moment.

Carragher covered the match for CBS Sports alongside Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Kate Scott.

Though Carragher thinks Arsenal can win the Champions League, he still thinks the Gunners have one question to answer.

Arsenal sit TOP of the Champions League table!

Speaking to the CBS panel, the Liverpool icon pondered whether Arsenal will still be the team to beat when things become more decisive.

“Arsenal are the best team in Europe right now, we were saying before the game, the same with Bayern Munich, but more so with Arsenal, because they just won well.

“Can they still be the best team in Europe by May? Because, right now, no one can get near them.”

Arsenal’s form this season is encouraging and puts them on course to have a very successful campaign, but, as Mikel Arteta’s players know well, the results will become clear in May.

It’s not the first time Carragher has spoken about Arsenal tripping up

Given that Arsenal broke the Premier League record for leading the title race for 248 days and eventually missing out, Arteta won’t want his players to start dreaming.

It’s, therefore, an unsurprising question for Carragher to ask, but not only because of Arsenal’s history, but because of what he’s been saying this season.

By wondering if Arsenal can keep the momentum up until the summer months, the pundit simply repeated the narrative he’s been referencing in the Premier League.

In October, Carragher stated that ‘Arsenal will get nervous in March and April’, with regard to the title race.

A month later, Carragher repeated that Arsenal will become nervous about Manchester City’s presence.

The Liverpool hero doesn’t seem quite ready to imagine a silverware-laden season for the Gunners, or is he just speaking pragmatically?
