Jose Mourinho has thwarted Arsenal on many occasions in the past, with plenty of head-to-head moments against the manager.

In spells as head coach at Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, the Gunners have had plenty of eventful clashes against the Portuguese icon.

Now, all these years later, Jose Mourinho has taken to management in Turkey with Fenerbahce, with a big challenge ahead.

While he is no longer in the Premier League, the 62-year-old is still determined to cause problems for Arsenal.

The latest of those issues comes in the transfer market, where the pursuit of one Gunner could derail some contract talks.

Fenerbahce pushing to sign Leandro Trossard from Arsenal this summer

The Turkish Super Lig has caused some problems for Arsenal this summer in the transfer market already.

Leroy Sane was linked with a transfer to Arsenal, but eventually made the big-money move to Galatasaray instead.

On top of that, the division could strike again, this time through Jose Mourinho’s side, Fenerbahce.

That’s because, according to the Turkish Post, Fenerbahce are pushing to sign Leandro Trossard in a potential deal this summer.

It’s stated that the club are ready to match wage expectations for the Belgian international with a three-year contract offer prepared.

Trossard has changed his agents, which is also claimed to play a part in opening up the chance of joining Fenerbahce.

It’s a move claimed to be approved by the management there, with Mourinho potentially strengthening his ranks once more.

That could be a problem for Arsenal, who have been engaged in contract talks with Trossard in recent months.

Arsenal have been in contract talks with Leandro Trossard

Leandro Trossard has just one year left on his contract at Arsenal, which has put his future at the club in doubt.

With the changing of agents and the interest from the Gunners in signing a new forward to compete on his flank, there are questions as to whether he will stay.

Trossard’s contract talks with Arsenal have stalled, suggesting there could be a strong possibility of an exit in the months ahead.

Much of that may depend on the offers received, as well as the possibility of signing a replacement in the market.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal will make that decision, but the approach from Fenerbahce could destroy any progress made on those contract talks.

It all depends on the preference of the player, though, who will have the biggest say of all on this.
