Arsenal staff have to manage Kai Havertz’s return in a different way now

Havertz has only made three Premier League appearances this season due to his ongoing battle to return to full fitness.

Given how impactful Havertz was when he did return, Arsenal will want him back promptly, but the club understand that there can be no risks taken with the 26-year-old.

On The Second Captains Podcast, journalist Miguel Delaney revealed what he’s heard from within Arsenal about managing the forward’s return.

“He’s got this knee injury, which he’s had actually throughout his career, and basically it just requires management,” Delaney began.

“From what I’ve been told, basically, some of the injuries he suffered in the last year have obviously kind of had some kind of temporary effect on his body, which means he just has to adjust again and manage it in a slightly different way, which has probably slowed his comeback.”

Before Arsenal’s clash with Wolves, Arteta confirmed that Havertz is managing a hamstring issue, which explains why he has not returned as soon as some may have thought.

Delaney assured that, from his understanding, Arsenal believe that Havertz will return next month.

“I think they’re still hopeful that he’s in the team again from March,” he concluded.
