Arsenal striker Kai Havertz has been out of action due to another injury concern, with Mikel Arteta now revealing that the issue is his hamstring.

It was initially reported that Havertz would miss weeks with a new injury following his return to action from knee surgery.

Fortunately, Arteta has since shared that the German could return for the North London Derby, a return way ahead of the schedule that fans had in their heads.

It’s positive that Havertz could return to face Tottenham, but the Arsenal manager must also be cautious, given the nature of his current niggle.

Mikel Arteta confirms that Kai Havertz’s injury is his hamstring

After Arteta shared an injury update in his pre-match press conference ahead of Wolves, he shared some additional information about the location of Havertz’s injury.

Journalist Simon Collings revealed on X that Arteta had informed the media that Havertz’s injury regards his hamstring.

The news placed a bit of an ominous cloud over Arteta’s prior comments about Havertz having a chance of returning at the weekend against Spurs, as when it comes to hamstrings, the last thing Arsenal should do is rush.

It was only earlier this year that Havertz underwent surgery on his hamstring after seriously injuring himself during a mid-season training camp in Dubai.

Given the player’s history with hamstring issues and how complex those problems can be, fans are becoming a little concerned about whether the striker should return so soon.

Arsenal fans react to Havertz hamstring injury revelation

When the news was shared on social media, fans swarmed around it on X to share their worries about Havertz’s proposed return.

“In that case, it’s surprising that he might be available for the NLD. Hamstrings usually take much longer to heal,” one X user wrote.

Another doubted that Arteta’s comments on Havertz’s derby return were accurate, “He’s playing mind games then, as there is no way Havertz makes the weekend then.”

“If it’s hamstring issues, then Havertz isn’t playing next week. It’s impossible,” one fan added.

They weren’t the only ones to have that stance, “That means he ain’t playing against Tottenham or even in the squad.”

Arteta will put the needs of his players first, of course, but that hasn’t stopped fans from showing concern about how long Havertz’s period out of action is.
