After a lot of speculation, Arsenal announced the hire of Andrea Berta as sporting director.

The former Atletico Madrid businessman arrives to succeed Edu Gaspar, who left his role in November.

Already, Berta has introduced himself to staff at Colney as he prepares to put his stamp on the Gunners, in what is an incredibly exciting hire.

Jurrien Timber returns to training ahead of Fulham

One of the focuses from the international break was Jurrien Timber, who caused worry back in North London.

Timber was withdrawn from duty with the Netherlands due to illness, but there has since been an encouraging update on the Dutchman.

Arteta will be hopeful of having the defender fit to face Fulham, and fortunately, confidence has been boosted as the fullback was spotted at Colney.

Now that Berta has been announced, all eyes will be on who the Italian opts to sign in the summer.

Benjamin Sesko is one of Arsenal’s priority targets to bolster Arteta’s attack.
