Arsenal handed possible Benjamin Sesko transfer boost after what RB Leipzig just did

Benjamin Sesko is a long-term transfer target of Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta an admirer of the striker.

Arsenal’s interest in Sesko is no secret, as the Gunners have been watching the RB Leipzig star for some time.

So much so that Arsenal invited Sesko’s agents to the Emirates, aiming to maintain strong relations between club and target.

Given that Arteta pleaded for a striker signing in the January window, it would be unsurprising to see those in North London make contact with Sesko once more in the summer.

RB Leipzig sack manager Marco Rose

Arsenal were told to pay ‘crazy’ money for Sesko if they wanted to sign him in January, with no transfer happening.

Though the striker remained in the Bundesliga in the winter, there could be a new opening for Arsenal this summer due to great change happening at Leipzig.

After two and a half years, Leipzig have parted ways with manager Marco Rose, who signed Sesko from RB Salzburg and was a great advocate for the Arsenal target.

Now that the manager has departed, there could be a light at the end of the tunnel for the Gunners, who will hope the grip on Sesko has loosened.

Rose commented on Sesko’s links to Arsenal in January, insisting that his player was not for sale, but what will Leipzig’s next head coach think?

Benjamin Sesko to Arsenal transfer hope

Regardless of Leipzig’s changes at the top, Arsenal are set to remain on the Slovenian’s trail in the summer, as per David Ornstein’s understanding.

Ornstein named Sesko as a target heading into the summer window, with pressure already on Leipzig to attempt to keep their talisman away from admirers. 

Aside from Rose’s departure, Arsenal have a chance to secure their striker target due to the fact that Sesko has a release clause, which could sit at around £66m in the upcoming market.

If there was anyone at Leipzig who didn’t want to lose the 21-year-old, it was Rose, who has now departed the club to alert those at the Emirates.

Sesko’s future is one to watch this summer, particularly as Leipzig brace themselves for an adaptation period.
