Arsenal have a transfer priority list ahead of the summer window, with updates on four targets provided.
It’s no secret that Mikel Arteta wants to sign a striker as Arsenal look to have a statement summer transfer window.
One player consistently linked to the Gunners is Viktor Gyokeres, who has been watched by Arsenal for some time.
Though the high-scoring Sweden international is set to be a name passed on to pending sporting director Andrea Berta, Gyokeres isn’t the only name on Arteta’s list.

Arsenal stance on Viktor Gyokeres as transfer priority emerges
Berta’s record of signing strikers will bring Arsenal fans encouragement when thinking about the incoming sporting director.
Signing a number nine in the summer is non-negotiable for the Gunners, but fortunately, those in N5 are already ‘doing work’.
That’s the understanding of TBR’s Graeme Bailey, who spoke to Arsenal Insider about the club’s stance on Gyokeres and other targets.
“Gyokeres is one I haven’t heard much on from the Arsenal side of things,” Bailey admitted before revealing three names preferred at the Emirates at this moment.
“Isak is still preferably first-choice and Sesko we know they’ve done work on. There are other strikers around, they’ve done their bid for Vlahovic in previous years and they still like him as well.”
Arteta’s admiration for Alexander Isak is common knowledge, as is Arsenal’s interest in Dusan Vlahovic, who could be available for as low as £25m in the summer, as per GIVEMESPORT.
Though Gyokeres’ name is still uttered around North London, it’s understood that the Swede isn’t close to the top of the list.
“There are options out there, I don’t think Gyokeres is massively high on their wanted list but clearly, they’re doing work on strikers; he’s one of them.
“I think it’s fair to still say Isak and Sesko are the main two options for them though.”
Arsenal have met with Benjamin Sesko’s agents in the past, with the summer window set up for the Gunners to explore the RB Leipzig talisman’s availability further.
Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, Dusan Vlahovic and Benjamin Sesko – who suits Arsenal best?
Arsenal have four top-quality strikers on their radar available at different prices, but who would be the best purchase for Arteta?
Glancing at each player’s 2024/25 domestic scoring record, Gyokeres stands out as the freest scoring talent, although that doesn’t mean he’s the best suited.
| Player | Appearances | Goals |
| Alexander Isak | 33 | 23 |
| Viktor Gyokeres | 41 | 40 |
| Benjamin Sesko | 36 | 17 |
| Dusan Vlahovic | 34 | 14 |
For example, Isak is Premier League proven and has consistently shone in England, Sesko is only 21 and is one of the Bundesliga’s meanest finishers, and Vlahovic is available at a cut price.
At present, Arsenal fans would be more than willing to welcome any of the quartet to bolster Arteta’s options however, the summer will reveal just how willing the Gunners are to spend.
With Isak the highest costing and lowest risk, and Vlahovic the lowest costing and least in-form, Berta is set to have a fundamental decision to make when he gets to work.
