Catch all the latest Arsenal news, including updates on Ethan Nwaneri, Jason Ayto, Ben White and Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal visit Southampton on Sunday afternoon at St. Mary’s in what is their final game of the season.
The North Londoners will secure second spot in the Premier League for a third consecutive season by avoiding a huge defeat on the south coast.
Attentions for Arteta and Andrea Berta will then turn towards the transfer window, and working out how Arsenal can improve their squad ahead of next season.
With that said, here’s a look at the latest news ahead of another big day.
Arsenal are ‘worried’ about Ethan Nwaneri’s contract situation
Ethan Nwaneri has enjoyed a fine breakout season in the Arsenal first team, netting nine goals across all competitions, despite playing limited minutes.
With his contract expiring next summer, the Gunners are looking to tie the talented youngster down to a new long-term deal.
The Emirates hierarchy had been confident about securing the teenager’s commitment, although they’re now starting to grow worried about the situation.

Nwaneri’s representatives have reservations about their client’s pathway to minutes, given Arsenal want to sign two new forwards this summer, and contract talks have subsequently stalled.

Assistant sporting director Jason Ayto leaves Arsenal
Jason Ayto has been at Arsenal in various roles for over a decade, but he’s now left the North London club.
The former scout was appointed as the Gunners’ interim sporting director after Edu Gaspar departed in November, and was a genuine candidate to assume the role permanently.
However, Arsenal ultimately named Berta as Edu’s replacement, leaving Ayto as their assistant sporting director once again.

The Englishman has opted to leave his post to pursue new opportunities, and will now serve a period of gardening leave.

Ben White praises Mikel Arteta
Arteta has come under fire for not winning a trophy in the last five years at Arsenal, with a flurry of criticism coming his way since the Gunners were knocked out by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
However, the Spaniard retains the faith of his squad, and Ben White is the latest Gunners player to express his admiration for the way the coach operates.
Asked in an interview with Sky Sports to describe Arteta in one word, White replied with ‘detail’.
“He has so much information on the game,” the defender said.
“I wouldn’t even be able to tell you how much we all go into before a game, in every single detail, which obviously makes the game so much easier because you know what’s going on, and what’s going to happen so, yeah, the detail is crazy.
“I think he’s probably the most detailed manager I’ve played under. He’s helped me massively to improve.”
