Lukas Podolski has named six Arsenal players he thinks are really ‘dangerous’

Lukas Podolski has been previewing Arsenal’s clash with Bayern Munich in the Champions League, having played for both clubs.

Podolski was once one of Arsenal’s greatest finishers, so he knows a thing or two about spotting dangerous assets in attack.

On Wednesday night, some of the world’s best forwards will be on show as Arsenal host Bayern Munich on matchday five of the Champions League league phase.

Arsenal will be wary of Harry Kane’s presence, but the attention isn’t all on Vincent Kompany’s front line, as the Gunners boast a tremendous attack, and doesn’t Podolski know it.

Lukas Podolski recognises Arsenal’s threat but sends Champions League warning

Ahead of the showdown between the two unbeaten sides in this season’s Champions League, Podolski was involved in an interview with Bayern Munich’s official website. 

When asked what he thinks of Arsenal’s form this season, the World Cup winner praised the Gunners’ defence, but was eager to draw attention to the ‘dangerous’ attack.

“They are a cohesive team and are also dangerous in attack. Whether it’s Trossard, Eze or Bukayo Saka, and Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard are still injured.”

Gyokeres won’t be involved against Bayern Munich, but, as Podolski stressed, Arsenal’s threat comes from different areas.

For all the strength that Arsenal have right now, Podolski’s assessment wasn’t all rosy.

“They [Arsenal] want to get into the top eight in the Champions League, and then the knockout stages begin. We’ll see if they can handle the pressure. They may lack experience.”

The potential of Arsenal cracking under pressure has been spoken about already this season, giving Arteta added incentive to move the narrative to the archives.

Arsenal will be more than wary of Bayern Munich’s threat

Bayern will know the threat Arsenal can pose, as will the Gunners, who will welcome a familiar foe to N5.

Harry Kane has noticed Arsenal’s differences this season, but for the striker, usual service has been resumed, already scoring 24 times this term.

As many as 15 of Kane’s career goals have come against Arsenal; however, ahead of the clash, the England captain admitted that his record isn’t on his mind.

Instead of goals, Kane is eyeing victories, noting that he’s scored a lot against the Gunners, but hasn’t won on many occasions at the Emirates.

His memory serves him well, as Kane has been on the winning side just once at the Emirates, something he’ll be eager to change on Wednesday night.
