Arsenal fans have been waiting patiently, but it seems as though the transfer market has finally sprung into life for the club.

The Gunners didn’t conduct any major business over June, but the start of July has already seen them make two signings, with Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga joining the club.

Now, following those additions, Arsenal are set to sign Christian Norgaard as another option to bolster the midfield.

While he isn’t a headline-grabbing signing, he does provide plenty of cover and experience for the side ahead of another busy season where the expectation is to fight for trophies across all competitions.

Christian Norgaard can offer lots to Arsenal in the coming campaign, and one of their former transfer targets has revealed as much previously.

Ivan Toney called Arsenal transfer target Christian Norgaard a “beast” in previous Brentford claims

Christian Norgaard’s transfer to Arsenal has plenty questioning exactly what he can bring to the side in the coming season.

The Danish international is set to bring plenty of experience, having captained Brentford to their recent record-breaking Premier League finishes.

Given some of the leadership that has been lost this summer, the addition of a squad player like Norgaard could make all the difference.

Former Arsenal transfer target Ivan Toney has already outlined exactly what can be expected from the 31-year-old upon his move to the Emirates Stadium.

He replied to some posts from Norgaard on Instagram in the past, with one stating: “What a beast.”

The praise didn’t stop there, though, as he also said: “What a playa [player],” in response to another post.

It shows just how good Norgaard has been, given the praise from his peers in the past.

Now, Arsenal will be hopeful that the midfielder can go on to become just as good as the last signing made from Brentford.

Arsenal will want to repeat previous Brentford transfer success for David Raya

Arsenal’s dealings with Brentford have been relatively successful in recent years, most notably their move for David Raya.

The Gunners secured an initial loan for the goalkeeper before sealing a permanent transfer the following year, due to their PSR position.

Those good relations between the teams will have played a part in the discussions for Norgaard to ensure both parties get a deal that works out for them.

Given the success of Raya at the Emirates Stadium, the signing of Norgaard will be one that they hope can follow in the same way.

While that may only be in a squad player role, compared to the starting position Raya found himself in, the new midfielder will still have an important say on how the next few years play out for the Gunners.
