Arsenal have finished their pre-season with a win.

The Gunners hosted Athletic Club in the Emirates Cup on Saturday, and Mikel Arteta’s men were absolutely fantastic from start to finish.

Goals from Viktor Gyokeres, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz sealed a comfortable win, but it was good to see some of the injured players back in action.

Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori and Havertz had a few issues over the summer, but all four of them took part against the club from Bilbao.

Now, another injured player could be back soon.

Mikel Arteta shares Leandro Trossard injury update ahead of Manchester United vs Arsenal

Leandro Trossard has had an interesting summer transfer window.

The Belgium international has entered the final two years of his contract, and there were talks over a new contract.

However, those discussions have stalled, and there have been rumours that Trossard could be sold before the window shuts.

While speculation off the pitch continues, Trossard picked up an injury against Tottenham and has since missed the games against Villarreal and Athletic Club.

Arteta was asked about the Belgian in his press conference on Saturday, and the Arsenal manager issued a positive update.

When asked if Trossard is fine, Arteta said, as relayed on HaytersTV: “I think he is going to be (okay) in a few days.

“He had a little niggle in his groin, but he should be fine.”

That suggests that Trossard could be fit for the opening game of the season against Manchester United next weekend.

Is everyone else at Arsenal fit to face Manchester United?

Arsenal had so many injuries in the 2024/25 season.

Those issues are the biggest reason why the Gunners failed to win the Premier League and Champions League titles last term.

Arteta will be hoping that things will be better this time around, and it looks like he will have everyone available for the Manchester United clash except one player.

Gabriel Jesus is still recovering from his ruptured ACL, and the Brazilian is not expected to be back in action anytime soon.

Apart from Jesus, everyone is expected to be fit for the game at Old Trafford.
