Arsenal are set for a summer shake-up of their squad.
Andrea Berta’s first transfer window at the Emirates Stadium is set to be a busy one as he sets out to mould an Arsenal squad capable of challenging on all four trophy fronts next season.
Mikel Arteta wants Thomas Partey to stay amid talks over a new contract but there is doubt over the future of Oleksandr Zinchenko with Jorginho set to join Flamengo.
Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard’s Saudi links have cooled but their futures at the club are still uncertain. Now there has been a new twist in Trossard’s contract negotiations.

Leandro Trossard’s Arsenal contract twist
As per The Athletic, Trossard’s representatives are still in negotiations with Arsenal over a new contract at the club but those discussions are not centred around an extension in length.
Trossard’s current contract expires in June 2026 and the report claims that the Gunners are only in negotiations to raise the Belgian’s salary.
The Athletic report states: “His representatives have been engaged in talks with Berta over his contract, which is set to run until 2027. Those conversations, however, do not centre on an extension but on an uplift in salary.
“Arsenal have recognised for some time that Trossard’s contract does not reflect his standing within the squad, and are now engaged in negotiations to put that right.
“If an agreement can be struck, it could be an ideal outcome for Arteta and Arsenal, enabling them to keep a player who has shown he can be a potential difference-maker, without necessarily committing to an extended contract.
Arsenal should cash in on Leandro Trossard this summer
Trossard has shown his capabilities once again this season, scoring ten goals in his 55 appearances across all competitions.
However, Arsenal are in talks with Rodrygo and are also eyeing moves for strikers Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.
| Leandro Trossard’s Arsenal career | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Trossard | 123 | 28 | 22 |
Given Trossard’s age and the fact he can leave for free next summer, it would be wise for Arsenal to sell the Belgian this summer for a fee in order to then use the funds on other areas of the team.
Should The Gunners bring in two or three attacking options in the transfer window, Trossard’s opportunities will decrease and he has already shown displeasure at being left out of the side.
