Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign a number of forwards over the last year.
The Gunners made the mistake of not signing a striker in the summer of 2024, and that hurt them. Then, in January, Mikel Arteta pleaded for a new number nine, but his wish was not granted.
That is the reason why Arsenal failed to win any silverware last term, but they have corrected their mistake now by signing Viktor Gyokeres.
However, another player who was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium has joined a rival Premier League club, but he’s still dreaming of playing at Arsenal’s home ground.
Charalampos Kostoulas says he’s excited to play at the Emirates after Arsenal links
Charalampos Kostoulas is one of the most talented players Greece has produced in recent seasons.
The 18-year-old made a terrific name for himself at Olympiacos, so much so that he secured a big move away from the club despite playing just 35 games for them.
Brighton and Hove Albion agreed to pay an eye-watering £29.78 million to sign Kostoulas earlier this summer, but before that happened, he was a target for Arteta.
Reports claimed back in February that Arsenal had made contact to sign Kostoulas as well as his teammate at the time at Olympiacos, Christos Mouzakitis.
The Gunners have been great at identifying young talents in recent seasons, but unfortunately for them, Brighton signed Kostoulas before they could even attempt a move of their own.
Now, while speaking in a video on Brighton’s official YouTube channel, the teenager was asked which stadium he is most excited to play in this season.
He quickly replied: “I think I would say against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.”
Arsenal should continue to keep an eye on Charalampos Kostoulas
Gyokeres is an amazing signing for Arsenal, but the Gunners need to be planning ahead already.
Nathan Butler-Oyedeji left the club in the summer, while Liverpool beat Arsenal to the signing of young Will Wright, who is regarded as one of the best young strikers in the country.
Arsenal need to bring in a younger striker sooner or later, which is why they should continue to keep tabs on the ‘outstanding’ Kostoulas, who they clearly liked when he was at Olympiacos.
However, signing players from Brighton usually costs a lot of money, and we think Kostoulas will have a big price tag on his head if he develops well in the coming years.
