Paul Scholes has revealed that he is a huge fan of Eberechi Eze, but he insists that his lack of goals for Arsenal is currently holding him back.
Eze produced a hat-trick against Tottenham, but since then, the winger has failed to find the back of the net, which means his Premier League tally for the season has remained at just four.

Meanwhile, Eze’s performances have also dipped, and he has just struggled to find his footing in the team at the Emirates Stadium.
It’s clear that the 27-year-old remains one of the biggest attacking talents in the Premier League, but if he can rediscover his scoring form, Arsenal’s title chances will be boosted significantly.
Paul Scholes tells Eberechi Eze to score more goals for Arsenal
Paul Scholes believes that Eberechi Eze would be the best player in the Premier League if he were to add more goals to his game.
Currently, Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to create from out wide, and this has meant that Eze isn’t getting the ball as often as he would like.
Last season, the winger produced the best goal-scoring campaign of his career, netting 14 times for Crystal Palace; however, he looks unlikely to match that right now.
When asked for his Player of the Season so far, Scholes told The Good, The Bad & The Football: “Well, let’s see who gets player of the year at the end of the season then,” Scholes was asked during a debate about POTY.
Who is ending the season with more goal contributions? Eberechi Eze or Martin Odegaard?
“Look, Semenyo’s been unbelievable. You think where the team is, he’s been unbelievable. Declan Rice has been really good.
“Look, Eze, I tell you, Eze is the best footballer, because I just love that type of player, number 10s. The only thing about Eze that maybe lets him down is not enough goals.”
Arteta will be hoping that Eze can regain the form he showed in the earlier stages of Arsenal’s season, with Martin Odegaard also underperforming.
Right now, Arsenal are heavily reliant on Saka, and could do with someone like Eze taking the burden off him.
Arsenal are right to stick by Eberechi Eze over Antoine Semenyo
Arsenal have opted against moving for Antoine Semenyo in January, and are instead ready to stick with their current left winger options.
Andrea Berta wants to sign another attacker in 2026, with Semenyo one of the players on his list, but the Gunners would rather wait until the summer.
It’s an odd situation in N5, as the North London club have several strong left-wing options, yet there remains the desire to add another.
Leandro Trossard has been brilliant this season, and Gabriel Martinelli has also impressed, reducing the immediate need to sign yet another winger.
