The Premier League fixture list has been announced and Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest in our opening game of the 2023/24 season – here’s our predicted XI.
The summer transfer officially opened yesterday and Arsenal are expected to be very busy. Central midfield is our priority, while reinforcements at full-back would also help out a lot.
Arsenal haven’t signed or sold anyone just yet, but here’s how we think Mikel Arteta‘s starting XI will look in our first game of next season.

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Nottingham Forest
Arsenal will host Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 12th at 12:30 pm.
Steve Cooper’s side beat us the last time the two sides faced each other, but the Gunners battered them in the same fixture last season – an amazing 5-0 win at the Emirates.

Arteta will be hoping for something similar to kick things off next season, and we think he’ll hand starts to three new signings – we’re predicting those three names here, of course.
Aaron Ramsdale will start in goal, with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in the heart of the defence. Oleksandr Zinchnko will start at left-back, but instead of Ben White on the opposite side, we think Arsenal will sign Joao Cancelo and start him there.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move to the Emirates, with the Gunners plotting a £35 million opening bid to sign him in the coming days (Football Transfers).
The big changes will likely be in midfield. Arsenal have been heavily linked with moves to sign Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo. It will be difficult to get them both, but hey, we can dream, can’t we?
We think – well, we hope – Rice and Caicedo will start in the middle of Arsenal’s park in our first game next season.
Our front four will be the same as it was last season – Skipper Martin Odegaard in attacking midfield, Gabriel Martinelli on the left, Bukayo Saka on the right and Gabriel Jesus leading the line through the middle.
