The Emirates Stadium outfit enjoyed a terrific campaign in 2022/23 as Arsenal secured their return to the Champions League. Arteta also oversaw a surprise Premier League title push in north London, just falling shy of European treble-winners Manchester City in the final weeks.

Arsenal had not qualified for UEFA’s premier club competition since featuring in the 2016/17 edition. They had also not finished a Premier League term in second place since 2015/16. Yet the arrivals of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko helped to launch them up the table.

Kai Havertz – Arsenal confirmed their first signing of the summer on June 28 as the 24-year-old joined from Chelsea. The Gunners paid their London rivals an initial £62.5m, rising up to £67.5m. The German spent three years at Stamford Bridge and won the Champions League.

Jurrien Timber – Arsenal confirmed the signing of the 22-year-old from AFC Ajax on July 14. The Netherlands international moved to Emirates Stadium after nine years at the Eredivisie giants for £38.5m. He agreed to a five-year deal and adds central and wide defensive depth.

Declan Rice – Arsenal confirmed the club-record signing of the 24-year-old from West Ham United on July 15. The 43-cap England midfielder left London Stadium as the IrIrons captain in a deal worth up to £105m. He also lifted the Europa Conference League title in June 2024.

David Raya – Arsenal sealed the arrival of the 27-year-old on loan from Brentford on August 15. The Spain goalkeeper has moved to Emirates Stadium on a one-year deal for £3m which boasts a £27m option to buy. He kept 12 clean sheets in 38 Premier League games in 22/23.

Pablo Mari – AC Monza confirmed the signing of the centre-back from Arsenal for £6m on June 30 following an initial loan transfer.

Nikolaj Moller – Arsenal confirmed on June 20 that the striker had joined FC St. Gallen in a permanent transfer.

Mazeed Ogungbo – Barrow AFC confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old defender for an undisclosed fee on June 28.

Granit Xhaka – Bayer Leverkusen confirmed the signing of the 30-year-old from Arsenal for £21.5m on July 6.

Ben Cottrell – NS Mura secured a permanent transfer from Arsenal to the Slovenian side for the 21-year-old on August 1.

Auston Trusty – Sheffield United secured the arrival of the 24-year-old in a permanent £5m transfer from Arsenal on August 3.

Matt Turner – Nottingham Forest confirmed the signing of the 29-year-old from Arsenal on August 9 for an initial £7m, rising to £10m with add-ons.

Folarin Balogun – AS Monaco secured an initial €30m (£26m) transfer from Arsenal for the 22-year-old on August 30. The USMNT striker’s switch could rise to €40m (£34.5m) after all add-ons. While the Gunners additionally secured a 17.5% sell-on clause as part of the deal.

Catalin Cirjan – Arsenal confirmed FC Rapid Bucuresti had signed the 20-year-old on loan for the 2023/24 season on June 26.

Mauro Bandeira – Colchester United confirmed the signing of the 19-year-old on loan for the 2023/24 season from Arsenal on July 18.

Billy Vigar – Eastbourne Borough confirmed the signing of the 19-year-old on loan for the 2023/24 season from Arsenal on July 20.

Hubert Graczyk – Slough Town confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old goalkeeper on loan from Arsenal for the 2023/24 season on July 21.

Mika Biereth – Motherwell confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old striker on loan for the 2023/24 season from Arsenal on August 3.

Charlie Patino – Swansea City announced the arrival of the 19-year-old on loan from Arsenal for the 2023/24 season on August 11.

Marquinhos – FC Nantes confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old in a straight loan transfer from Arsenal for the 2023/24 season on August 12.

Runar Alex Runarsson – Cardiff City announced the arrival of the 28-year-old on loan from Arsenal for the 2023/24 season on August 18.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy – Millwall secured a season-long loan from Arsenal for the 19-year-old on August 24.

Tyreece John-Jules – Derby County confirmed the signing of the 22-year-old on loan from Arsenal until January on August 26.

Kieran Tierney – Real Sociedad sealed a season-long loan switch from Arsenal for the 26-year-old on August 27.

Salah-Eddine Oulad M’hand – FC Den Bosch added the 20-year-old midfielder on loan from Arsenal for the 2023/24 season on August 31.

Nuno Tavares – Nottingham Forest confirmed the signing of the 23-year-old on loan for the 2023/24 season from Arsenal on September 1. The Reds paid £1m to hire the left-back and secured an option to buy for £12m in 2024. Future add-ons can increase the sum to £15m.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles – The Gunners announced that the Arsenal academy product was to leave the club at the end of his contract on June 16. He played 132 first-team games for the Emirates Stadium side since his debut in December 2014. He signed with Lyon on August 7.
