Marc Guehi looks like being the name that is going to dominate this January transfer window, with Arsenal among the clubs interested.

Alongside Man City and Liverpool, Arsenal are keen admirers of Guehi and could look to strike a deal before the month ends.

It leaves Crystal Palace with a tricky situation to manage, while Guehi himself is bound to end up having a lot of control over the matter thanks to his contract.

Be honest. What was your immediate reaction after Manchester United ended Arsenal’s 49-game unbeaten run?

There are suggestions that Guehi will stay put until at least the summer, but according to one Sky Sports journalist, it is Arsenal who might feel the most confident of all the clubs.

Why Arsenal are tipped to sign Marc Guehi

Whether or not Arsenal go for broke this January and wrap a deal up for Guehi remains to be seen.

As it stands, he would be behind William Saliba and Gabriel in the pecking order but he would also offer supreme depth to an already great squad.

Now, speaking on the Guehi situation on Sky Sports, journalist Kaveh Solhekol conceded that in his mind, Guehi will favour a move to Arsenal above all else.

“I have a funny feeling Marc Guehi might end up at Arsenal,” Solhekol commented.

“If he wants to stay in London, play for a club who are probably going to be the champions, I imagine Arsenal would tick lots of boxes. That’s just a feeling.”

Marc Guehi could be the story of the transfer window in England

Oftentimes, we see a big name striker or star midfielder be the talk of the town when it comes to the transfer windows in England.

This, then, with Guehi, could be a different story as the league’s top clubs battle it out to land one of the most sought-after defenders in the land.

It’s not often we see a defender dominate proceedings but Guehi is so highly-rated that it makes sense for all three clubs in different ways.

If Arsenal do sign him, then it might well wrap them the league up. However, if he goes elsewhere, it remains game on and the Gunners will have to keep ploughing on and picking up points.
