Sol Campbell is backing Arsenal to have a similar Champions League campaign next season to the one in which they reached the final.
The Gunners came so close to winning their first European Cup; however, they were beaten on spot kicks by Paris Saint-Germain.
🏆 Fill in the blank: I am ___% confident Arsenal can retain our Premier League title next season…
Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes missed from 12 yards, and the North London club finished runners-up in Budapest.
But next season, the former Arsenal legend is backing the team to have a similar campaign, and perhaps even go one step further.
Sol Campbell backs Arsenal’s Champions League chance
Sol Campbell is confident that Arsenal will have every chance of winning the Champions League next season if they keep the same formula which saw them reach the final.
Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta are focused on winning the Champions League, and the focus is now on finally bringing the European Cup to the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta is desperate to win the Champions League and become the first Arsenal boss to do so, with Campbell backing him and the team ahead of next season.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Campbell said: “I think you know you can never guarantee, especially in the Champions League, you’re going to be there next the following season, but they’ve got the squad to get there the next season.
“You got the squad to get to the final game. So that gives confidence already. You may have one or two players who might come in, and one or two players might move on. But the main thing is the squad.”
“If they keep the core squad and those quality players and add maybe a couple more in, they’re going to be there in and around the Champions League, you know, semi-final and final again.”

Sol Campbell says Arsenal will believe they can reach another Champions League final
Most importantly, Campbell believes that Arsenal will have the confidence they can reach another Champions League final.
“As long as they keep that kind of philosophy, as long as they keep that togetherness and the manager rotates the players and makes sure they’re on tip-top form every time they go out, because it’s two fronts,” added the former defender.
“Obviously, there’s Premier League, there’s Champions League, there’s FA Cup, there’s league. Everyone’s pushing, you’re not always going to get everything you want, but you can believe, and that’s the first thing now.
“They believe they’ve got the league, and hopefully they can, you know, go again with the league as well, but I think the Champions League is the one they sorely missed.”
