Arsenal fans will be riding the crest of a wave of excitement after the club finally announced the signing of Viktor Gyokeres.

The Swedish striker will immediately join up with Mikel Arteta’s squad in Asia and is set to make his debut against Tottenham Hotspur.

Andrea Berta’s work is not done and whilst the club would love to add another attacking signing to the group, player sales are now taking priority and Reiss Nelson is close to a move to Fulham.

So, with that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal news ahead of another busy day of action.

Viktor Gyokeres shares his first words as an Arsenal player

Gyokeres has signed a long-term contract at the club and has expressed his delight at joining the Gunners.

The 27-year-old has already had a spell in England with the likes of Brighton and Coventry but cannot wait to get started in North London.

Gyokeres stated: “It’s a very big day for me and everyone around me. I’m really excited to get going and meet everyone in the club and just to start playing football for this amazing club.

“I always want to score, to be a part of this club and to score in this kit and with this badge in front of all the supporters, I can’t wait. It will be an amazing feeling.”

Mikel Arteta invents new training drill on pre-season tour

Arteta is known for coming up with all sorts of inventive strategies on the training field to try and gain that competitive edge.

The Spaniard once played speakers of the Anfield crowd at London Colney in order to get his players into the mindset of playing in a raucous atmosphere against Liverpool.

His latest snippet involves pairs of his squad undertaking a passing drill before being shown a piece of paper – a test for the players’ physical and mental endurance.

On the piece of paper is a set of club badges and the players have to guess which member of the Arsenal squad has taken the career path according to the badges.

Myles Lewis-Skelly backs Noni Madueke to be a success at Arsenal

Myles Lewis-Skelly has already gone viral this week for his reaction to the news that Gyokeres will be joining him at the Gunners, but the 18-year-old has expressed his excitement over another signing.

Lewis-Skelly has backed Noni Madueke to be a success at the club despite some criticism from certain sections of the fanbase.

The Hale End graduate stated: “Noni is my guy! We get on so well, and we are so similar. I’m really happy he’s joined us because even when I joined up with the national team, he made me feel so welcome. And so vice versa, when he came here, I made him feel welcome as well. “
