Six-time Champions League winner Toni Kroos has found humour in one thing he’s been hearing about Arsenal.
Kroos retired in 2024, having had a footballing career that many could only dream of.
The midfielder won the World Cup with Germany alongside former Arsenal stars Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski in 2014, one of the greatest triumphs in the sport.
While Kroos has hung up his boots, the former Real Madrid hero isn’t far away from the action.

Toni Kroos bursts out laughing about Arsenal Champions League prediction
Kroos has gone from someone who assesses the game in midfield to one who assesses things from the stands.
The German has his own podcast named Einfach mal Luppen, translated to ‘Just take a look’, where he discusses footballing topics alongside his brother, Felix.
Arsenal were a talking point on the latest episode of the podcast, and fans might not appreciate what Kroos’ take was.
The two brothers were discussing a supercomputer’s prediction about how the 2025/26 Champions League will pan out, with Arsenal rising as the favourites to win the tournament.
“It’s Arsenal, because the supercomputer says that, with a probability of 18.09%, Arsenal will lift the trophy,” Toni said.
Felix replied, “It knows more than we do,” which triggered a laugh from Toni.
“It knows more than me, and in second place, Paris,” Kroos said while laughing.
The six-time Champions League winner made his thoughts on Arsenal winning the competition this season clear, finding humour in the supercomputer’s data.
It’s not the first time that such a reaction has been heard, as Steve McManaman also laughed at the idea of Arsenal winning the Champions League.
It’s an interesting, and perhaps naive, take, as Arsenal are largely different from the Gunners sides the midfielder had faced over his career.

People disagree with Kroos on whether Arsenal can win the Champions League
Kroos has played Arsenal four times in his career, the last time coming back in the 2013/14 season when the Gunners met Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16.
Since then, Arsenal have become a force to be reckoned with in Europe, with many holding the opinion that Mikel Arteta’s side aren’t actually too far away from winning the Champions League.

Ally McCoist thinks Arsenal can win the Champions League this season on the back of reaching the semi-finals last term.
Gone are the days when the round of 16 was the limit for Arsenal, who have made their presence in the competition known in recent years.
