Arsenal director Josh Kroenke has spotted a pattern that has bolstered his belief that Mikel Arteta is about to lead the club to Premier League glory.

Arsenal have finished as runners up in each of the last two Premier League seasons. Despite these double disappointments, Mikel Arteta’s side are clearly making progress.

Last time around, the Gunners were able to take the title race down to the wire, with Manchester City needing to win on the final day of the season in order to retain their crown.

In the wake of that so close, yet so far moment, Arteta promised Arsenal fans that silverware is on the way. With the new season now fast approaching, the time for the Spanish coach to deliver on that vow is here.

The Premier League title will be the North London club’s main aim heading into this season, and Arteta’s squad is certainly capable of achieving that objective. The manager will also be keen to strengthen his ranks further before the summer transfer window closes.

Arsenal have already signed Riccardo Calafiori, but have been linked with many more transfer targets. Sporting director Edu will be working on several potential deals in the coming days and weeks.

Meanwhile, Josh Kroenke, son of majority shareholder Stan Kroenke, is optimistic about what the new season will bring.

Josh Kroenke confident Arsenal will win Premier League title

Kroenke has big ambitions for Arsenal, and the owners have put their money where their mouth is in recent transfer windows.

On top of that, they know what it takes to oversee winning teams, as they also own successful franchises in the NBA, NFL, and NHL. Having seen his sides win silverware in other sports, Kroenke is more optimistic than ever about Arsenals chances in the upcoming Premier League title race.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Kroenke is “privately confident” that the Gunners will be crowned champions this time around, after “noticing a trend.”

Said trend involves the ownership’s other sports franchises having recently finally tasted success after recent close calls. The Denver Nuggets won the NBA Championship in recent years, after near misses in the years before.

Meanwhile, the LA Rams won the Super Bowl in 2022, having lost it in 2019.

Arsenal have finished second in the top flight of English football for the last two seasons in a row, Kroenke believes that now is their time.

Arsenal backed for Premier League title win over Man City

Kroenke is not the only one who believes in the North London club.

Former Aston Villa winger Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Arsenal for the title.

Meanwhile, three ESPN pundits have also backed Arsenal over Man City.

However, the reigning champions will still be many peoples’ favourites heading into the new campaign, and remain the team to beat.
