Raheem Sterling’s advice to Leroy Sane

Raheem Sterling played with Sane under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and won several league titles together as the left and right wingers in a formidable outfit.

Speaking to the Mail Online back in 2017, Sterling revealed a piece of advice that he gave to Sane after seeing his ability both in training and on the pitch.

Sterling stated: “We speak to each other and I said to him [Sane] shoot a lot because I’ve seen he has the ability to score goals. Now he is showing that, scoring and making assists and I’m really happy for him.’

Sane scored 39 goals in 135 appearances for City during his time there and was a major part of the side that earned 100 points in the 2017-18 season.

What Leroy Sane would bring to Arsenal

Guardiola is a huge fan of Sane and whilst Arsenal fans will not be enthralled by the current transfer links, the German winger could still prove to be an excellent addition to the squad.

There is no doubt that Sane cannot be the only wide player to arrive at the Emirates Stadium this summer but if the Gunners can bring in multiple options, Sane would provide experienced cover for Bukayo Saka.

It would allow Ethan Nwaneri the opportunity to really push Martin Odegaard for the number ten role and competition for places is what drives the very best teams and players forward.

Sane is also a proven winner and with the Arsenal squad still maturing and trying to find a way to finally get over the line in terms of achieving a major trophy, his dressing room influence could be invaluable.
