Arsenal have announced that William Saliba has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract.
Sporting director Andrea Berta has delivered again, as Saliba has followed Gabriel Magalhaes by signing a new contract at Arsenal.
There’s hope that Bukayo Saka will be next to sign a new deal, but for now, all attention is on the Frenchman.
Mikel Arteta knew interest in Saliba was growing, making the defender’s decision to pen a new contract all the more of a triumph.

William Saliba says he hasn’t reached his peak yet
With Real Madrid knocking at Saliba’s door, the 24-year-old only wanted Arsenal, but that’s not the only exciting thing about his new deal.
When speaking to Arsenal’s official website upon signing his new contract, Saliba praised Arteta’s impact on his career.
“The boss is one of the best coaches in the world. He has helped me a lot, him and his staff, so I’m so happy to have them as a coach.”
What came next was a thrilling admission, as Saliba insisted that he’s still got a long way to go until he reaches his very best.
“I’m 24 now, and I think I haven’t reached my peak,” he said.
“I have a lot of things to improve, a lot of things to give to this team, and I know that the coach and the staff will help me to become the best, or one of the best, defenders in the world and win trophies.”
Saliba is already one of the world’s best defenders, so to hear the man himself say that he’s got more room to evolve paints a fascinating picture of how the future could look.
Mikel Arteta says there’s more to come from Saliba
It’s not only personally that the France international wants to see growth, but as a collective with the Arsenal squad, too.
Upon signing, Saliba admitted he’s not 100% happy at Arsenal despite penning a new contract, stressing how badly he wants to win silverware.
The trophies will come for Saliba at Arsenal, just as a higher level will for the Frenchman.
After insisting that he still hasn’t reached his peak, Arteta shared a similar evaluation, tipping Saliba to deliver so much more.
“We know there is still so much to come from him, and will continue to work together to keep improving with the clear ambition of winning major trophies.”
It’s a time for celebration at Arsenal, but only briefly, as Champions League and Premier League action returns.
