William Saliba reveals who his favourite player at Arsenal is right now

Arsenal are reeling from yet another injury crisis as they prepare to face Everton in the Premier League.

With the return of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to fitness, Mikel Arteta’s attacking options suddenly look more refreshed however, it is now at the opposite end of the pitch where things are unravelling.

Gabriel Magalhaes is out for the season and there are doubts over the fitness of Jurrien Timber and Ben White ahead of what is the most important period of the season for the club.

It means defensive emphasis will fall heavily on the shoulders of William Saliba and the French defender has just revealed who his favourite player at Arsenal currently is.

William Saliba reveals Gabriel Magalhaes as favourite Arsenal player

Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Everton, Saliba has revealed that fellow centre back Gabriel is his favourite player to play alongside.

Saliba on Gabriel being his favourite, stated: “Yeah for sure because since the first day I came here to play with him, we play a lot of games, we know each other well, he knows what I’m good at and I know what he’s good at.

“We work well together and we are friends outside the pitch so I think it helps a lot, we just have to win some trophies together.”

Saliba will know have to strike up an equally formidable partnership with Jakub Kiwior, as the Polish international is set to replace Gabriel at the heart of the Gunners defence for the rest of the campaign.

Saliba revealed his first Arsenal shirt had Thierry Henry on the back

During the same interview with TNT Sports, the French defender also revealed the first football shirt that he owned as a child and supporters will remember the shirt well.

Saliba’s first shirt was in fact an Arsenal shirt with legend Thierry Henry on the back, the shirt was worn during the 2004-05 campaign.

Andrea Berta has a huge summer ahead of him at Arsenal and tying down Saliba to a new contract will be high on his priorities list with the defender’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2027.

Arsenal cannot afford to lose a player of Saliba’s quality if they want to win major trophies and Gunners fans will be hoping his love for the club influences his decision to sign a new deal.
