Arsenal will take their time in signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid

Edu Gaspar and Arteta worked hard in the background on convincing Odegaard to make the permanent move to the Emirates Stadium having completed a loan spell the season before.

Arsenal’s interest in the likes of Eze and Morgan Rogers could be repeating that smokescreen whilst they work on a deal to sign Real Madrid winger Rodrygo this summer.

Rodrygo is out of favour at Real Madrid and is waiting for discussions with new manager Xabi Alonso over his future in Spain.

Should those talks not produce the answer Rodrygo is looking for, the Gunners are set to pounce on the Brazilian star.

Arsenal players want the club to sign Rodrygo

Mikel Merino has labelled Rodrygo as ‘exquisite’ and believes that the forward is a ‘complete player’ having played against the Brazilian during his time at Real Sociedad.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Jesus are international teammates of Rodrygo and would love to have the opportunity to play their club football with the Real Madrid man too.

Gabriel Martinelli has welcomed competition from Rodrygo and there is a feeling that Martinelli’s form would improve should he be pushed for his place in the side.

There are a lot of reasons for the Gunners to press ahead and complete a deal for Rodrygo this summer, supporters may just have to be patient as part of the process.
