Arsenal are making moves early in the summer transfer window.

The official window opens on June 1 for ten days ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup and Arsenal are in talks with Benjamin Sesko over a potential move to the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta reportedly prefers Sesko over the Gunners’ other striker target Viktor Gyokeres and Andrea Berta is closing in on bringing the Leipzig man to the Emirates Stadium.

However, with the pressure on to deliver major success next campaign, Arsenal may not just stop at signing one striker and can take advantage of a rival’s PSR situation to sign a player approved by legend Thierry Henry.

Arsenal could sign Ollie Watkins alongside Benjamin Sesko

Arteta has not had a natural number nine at his disposal in the last two seasons with Kai Havertz admirably filling the role.

Gabriel Jesus has encountered a number of fitness issues leading to a loss of form and therefore, it should not be ruled out that the Gunners decide to bring in two forwards this summer.

Arsenal had a bid rejected for Ollie Watkins back in the January transfer window and with Aston Villa’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, Watkins could be available on the cheap.

Henry is a big fan of Watkins and the striker’s ability to provide goals as well as score them ‘impresses’ the Arsenal legend.

It would be a surprise but Berta is sending shockwaves around Europe with his approach to the market this summer and Watkins is definitely a deal to keep an eye on.

Ollie Watkins stance on Arsenal move

The move for Watkins in January didn’t materialise for Arsenal as Villa sold striker Jhon Duran just days before a bid was launched.

However, as per the Daily Mail, Watkins was open to a move to North London and that stance is unlikely to have changed following Villa’s failure to finish in the top five.

The England international has proven that he has the ability to deliver both domestically and in Europe and if the Gunners can strike a deal with Aston Villa for a cut-price fee, he would represent great value.
