Berta is claimed to be in “contact” with Marcel Schafer, one of the directors at Leipzig, to get a deal over the line.
While the sporting director is leading negotiations, Mikel Arteta is claimed to be a “big admirer” of Sesko ahead of a potential deal.
The youngster has a release clause worth €80 million (roughly £67 million), which could see a deal secured swiftly.
The terms of the payment are unclear, though, as Arsenal may look to structure it differently to trigger it up front.
While Arsenal missed out on Sesko last summer, the club may finally land the striker this time around.
Who is better out of Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres?
While Arsenal have shown interest in Viktor Gyokeres, there has always been the looming possibility of moving for Benjamin Sesko instead.
Arsenal have shown plenty of interest in Sesko, with the youngster possessing plenty of quality for now as well as potential for the future.
The Slovenian international is five years younger than Gyokeres, though the latter has plenty of experience and more goals in his career.
