Arsenal are now in great danger of losing Thomas Partey on a free transfer this summer.

Partey’s Arsenal departure is edging closer as the midfielder continues to stand firm on his request for a raise in wages.

Martin Zubimendi is expected to join Arsenal but with the club having already lost Jorginho, further midfield reinforcement is needed.

Lucien Agoume is one possible Partey replacement, however, with Andrea Berta intent on strengthening attacking areas, a solution may have to come from within the Arsenal academy.

Arsenal Insider takes a look at some potential internal solutions for the club after the success of Per Mertesacker’s young stars this campaign.

Three Arsenal academy stars to replace Thomas Partey

Michael Rosiak

Michal Rosiak is still in negotiations himself over a new contract to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium but there is optimism a deal will be struck.

Rosiak is admired by Jack Wilshere who claims the Gunners youngster sets a ‘great example’ to his teammates for his determination to practice and get better.

The Polish U19 international featured heavily for the Arsenal U21 side last season and in his 17 appearances, he scored six goals and created one.

Good on the ball and intelligent with his defending, he could develop into the role in front of the back four.

Rosiak is a set piece specialist having scored a stunning free kick against Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup.

Ife Ibrahim

Ife Ibrahim impressed for the U18 side this season and at just 17 years of age, the Hale End product has the footballing world at his feet.

Ibrahim was part of the side that reached the FA Youth Cup quarter-final alongside Max Dowman and Marli Salmon.

The Gunners fell to an agonising defeat at the hands of Manchester United but Ibrahim did himself no harm with an excellent performance in the holding midfield role.

He played 23 times in the U18 Premier League and with his ability to play across the back line, his defensive mindset and intelligence means he could become a real prospect for Mikel Arteta.

Myles Lewis-Skelly

Hard to believe that Myles Lewis-Skelly is yet to have a full season in the Arsenal first-team squad such was his impact on Arteta’s side.

However, the 18-year-old is set to start the campaign as one of Europe’s brightest prospects and has the ability to replace Partey in his more natural central midfield role.

Arsenal are interested in Jorrel Hato and should that deal be completed, it may well see Lewis-Skelly become the Gunners’ internal option to replace the outgoing Ghanaian.

Lewis-Skelly has excelled at left back but has all the attributes to become a world-class midfielder with his range of passing, athleticism and ability to carry the ball through the lines.
