Not enough talk is being had about how impressive one of Arsenal’s summer signings has been.

The summer transfer window was impressive at the Emirates, as sporting director Andrea Berta blew Arsenal fans away with his signings.

As well as bolstering Mikel Arteta’s squad depth, Berta added some blockbuster signings, one of whom was Eberechi Eze.

Arsenal took Eze from Tottenham’s grasp and haven’t looked back, but not enough noise is being made about the attacking midfielder’s form.

Everyone is aware of the threat Eze can pose when he’s at his best, yet the Englishman isn’t getting his flowers.

Looking at the playmaker’s goal contribution tally this season, one would assume his start to the campaign has been satisfactory, but that’s actually far from the case.

On X, football data provider DataMB shared a graphic to showcase the excellence that Eze has produced so far.

Ranked against Premier League midfielders on a per 90 basis, Eze ranked in the top three in an array of areas specific to an attacking midfielder’s game.

After nine games played, no midfielder in the English top-flight can compete with Eze when it comes to expected non-penalty goals and assists, shots and shots on target per 90.

Eze sits second in the assists, chance creation ratio, non-penalty expected goals and expected goals per 100 touches metric, also sitting in third based on his ball carrying frequency. 

The detailed data shows a lot more than the 27-year-old’s three Premier League goal contributions in eight appearances.

What makes things so much more exciting is that there’s still more to come from Eze, with Arsenal relishing having his game-changing presence on board.

While the detailed data reveals the level that Eze is performing at, goal contributions are what fans measure above all.

Last season, Eze recorded 16 goal contributions in the Premier League for Crystal Palace, scoring eight and assisting eight.

It was the highest number of direct contributions that the creative maestro has recorded so far in his Premier League career, a tally that he’ll be eager to eclipse at Arsenal.

With the level that Eze is already performing at and the number of games that are still to be played, the England international is in a good position to hit new heights.
