Arsenal’s 2025 summer signings ranked from best to worst as Viktor Gyokeres splits opinion

Eight players signed for Arsenal during the 2025 summer transfer window, and Arsenal Insider have ranked the new stars from best to worst.

A goalkeeper, three attackers, two midfielders and two defenders made up Andrea Berta’s work in the summer.

The impact of every signing has been evident early into the campaign, as Arsenal’s squad depth has been the biggest improvement Mikel Arteta has made since the 2024/25 season ended.

Like every new signing at every club, some players are thriving more than others, as some take longer to adapt than others, which is why ranking the new boys is particularly difficult.

Still, based on what we’ve seen from the opening day of the 2025/26 calendar to now, we’ve ranked Arsenal’s new signings from best to worst, a list that could look a lot different by May.

Who has been Arsenal’s best summer signing so far?

Martin Zubimendi – £51m

Eberechi Eze – £68m

Viktor Gyokeres – £64m

Noni Madueke – £52m

Piero Hincapie – Loan

Cristhian Mosquera – £13m

Grading Arsenal’s summer signings from best to worst

Martin Zubimendi

Starting with the best and who else takes the crown than Martin Zubimendi.

There’s a reason why Real Madrid were desperate to sign Zubimendi, and it became clear as soon as the Spaniard sported the red and white of Arsenal for the first time.

The midfielder has been consistently brilliant in Arteta’s midfield, seamlessly conjuring up a partnership with Declan Rice.

Arteta is overjoyed with Zubimendi, and so is every Arsenal fan, as the 26-year-old’s £51m price tag looks more and more of a bargain as each game passes.

Noni Madueke

Noni Madueke is next in the list, which might come as a surprise to some.

Though his goal contribution tally isn’t where it should be in the Premier League, his arrival signified something far greater, handing Arsenal a worthy competitor for Bukayo Saka.

Madueke has shone at Arsenal in spells, making it clear that he’s arrived to compete with Saka, giving Arteta the chance to rotate his star player.

In terms of future impact, Madueke cannot be overlooked, making him the second-best buy of the summer in Arsenal Insider’s eyes.

Cristhian Mosquera

Third in the list comes a player who has only made four Premier League starts thus far, and that is Cristhian Mosquera.

The 21-year-old’s arrival is graded in a similar way to Madueke’s, in that he’s a buy whose presence will become more and more prominent as time passes.

Arsenal know Berta struck gold with Mosquera, signing the centre-back for just £15m in the summer.

It’s been a tough start for the defender on the injury front, but when it comes to proving that he’s good enough to compete with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, Mosquera is well on his way.

Eberechi Eze

If we’d compiled the list after the North London Derby, there’s no doubt that Eberechi Eze would top it.

Eze has impressed at Arsenal, but only in spells, which is why the verdict is still out on whether his £67.5m transfer was a hit.

It’s clear that Arteta needs to address Eze’s role in the squad to enable the England international to properly thrive, with his best position still undetermined in the Arsenal manager’s eyes.

Piero Hincapie

Arteta is a lover of Piero Hincapie, who was signed on deadline day on a loan with an option to buy deal from Bayer Leverkusen.

At the time, the Ecuadorian’s move was puzzling, as many pondered if Arsenal needed another defender, but it quickly became clear that his purchase was essential.

Hincapie’s game is not perfect, as is to be expected from a player who is playing in the Premier League for the first time at 23, but his arrival was both necessary and smart.

Fill the blanks: Arsenal have a £45m option to buy Hincapie, right now, I think he’s worth £__m.

Viktor Gyokeres

Next is a player whose impact at Arsenal is yet to be determined, and that’s Viktor Gyokeres.

Though you could argue that his teammates aren’t giving him sufficient service, Arsenal signed a striker capable of scoring 54 goals in a domestic campaign for a reason.

That being said, Gyokeres is struggling; there’s no getting around that, and the Swede needs to improve his output, considering he’s yet to hit double figures in all competitions.

For now, it’s unknown whether the striker will become the right fit for Arteta’s side, limiting how high we can rank him in the list.

Christian Norgaard

Christian Norgaard was undoubtedly one of the less exciting signings of the summer, but again, his arrival was necessary due to the outgoings in midfield.

Despite not playing much at all, Norgaard has entirely won over Arteta, who is a huge fan of his summer purchase.

Norgaard is one of the best in the Arsenal squad in his manager’s eyes, but as he’s not featuring much, he’s stuck rather low on our list.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

If we were ranking the transfers on their price tags alone, Kepa Arrizabalaga would be top of the pile.

Arsenal signed Kepa for just £5m from Chelsea, only one season after he won the Champions League with Real Madrid.

Following the transfer disaster of Neto, it was imperative that Arsenal signed a top-quality number two to compete with David Raya.

The Gunners did that, but having made so few appearances this season, we’re yet to really see what Kepa can offer.
