Arsenal want to sign a goalkeeper this summer.

Joan Garcia’s imminent move to Barcelona means that the Gunners will have to change their transfer plan after tracking the Spaniard since last summer.

Karl Hein is set to return from a loan spell, however, there is a feeling that Andrea Berta will cash in on the young goalkeeper after a successful season with Real Valladolid in La Liga.

It leaves Arsenal without a back-up goalkeeper to David Raya following Neto’s return to Bournemouth but now, the club have the opportunity to sign a ‘world-class’ Premier League shot-stopper for what they would have paid for Garcia.

Arsenal can sign Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea this summer

As per L’Equipe, Chelsea have set a £21m (€25m) asking price for their goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic this summer.

Petrovic has spent the season on loan in France with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg and impressed by helping to guide his side to a seventh-place finish.

As per the Metro, Petrovic was described as ‘world-class’ by his manager Liam Rosenior following a match back in January and Arsenal should take note and pounce upon the Serbian goalkeeper.

Rosenior stated: “We have seen huge progress from Petro. He is a world-class goalkeeper. We see it every day and it is still paying off today.”

Djordje Petrovic’s Premier League record

Petrovic already has some Premier League experience under his belt during his time at Stamford Bridge and would have opportunities to feature under Mikel Arteta both domestically and in Europe.

The 25-year-old played 31 times for Strasbourg this season and kept an impressive ten clean sheets, whilst his Premier League record also reads well.

Arsenal have transfer history with Chelsea, having signed the likes of Kai Havertz and Jorginho in the past and more recently taking Raheem Sterling on loan.

With the Gunners needing to splash the cash in attacking areas, a reasonable fee for Petrovic would represent smart business to become Raya’s back-up option.
