Despite spending over £250 million in the transfer market this summer, Arsenal are now set to make a bid for another player.
The signing of Eberechi Eze was announced on Saturday evening before the Gunners’ clash with Leeds, with the 27-year-old joining from Crystal Palace for a fee in the region of £68 million.
The England international became the North Londoners’ seventh signing of the summer, joining the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke through the entrance door at London Colney.
Arsenal are still looking to add to this unprecedented summer by acquiring another player before the window shuts on September 1st.

Arsenal working to sign Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen
According to David Ornstein of the Athletic, Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie.
Hincapie started 28 games in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen last season, while he was also a prominent part of Xabi Alonso’s side’s title-winning campaign in 2023/24.
A fully-fledged Ecuadorian international, the 23-year-old is highly regarded in Germany and is capable of playing as a centre-back or at left-back.
Arsenal have long admired Hincapie, and are pushing to sign him as he’s informed Leverkusen of his desire to leave this summer.
While die Schwartzroten favour keeping hold of the player, he does have a €60 million release clause in his contract, which is valid until 2029.
Ornstein reports that Arsenal are making an effort to negotiate a fee lower than this clause, to a sum that more accurately reflects his market value.
Tottenham are also interested in signing Hincapie, but his preference is a move to the Emirates.

Jakub Kiwior will surely leave after Piero Hincapie to Arsenal update
Arsenal are currently stacked with defensive options, with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Cristhian Mosquera, Jurrien Timber, Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Jakub Kiwior all at Mikel Arteta’s disposal.
Ornstein suggests Arsenal’s pursuit of Hincapie is dependent on a departure, and Kiwior appears the most likely to leave N5 before the window shuts.
Porto and AC Milan are interested in Kiwior, with the former now seemingly accelerating their interest in the left-footed centre-back.
| Jakub Kiwior’s Premier League Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 17 |
| Goals | 1 |
| Assists | 0 |
| Pass Accuracy | 91.4% |
| Progressive Passes per 90 | 3.84 |
| Tackles per 90 | 1.76 |
| Interceptions per 90 | 0.48 |
| Aerial Duels Won per 90 | 0.88 |
The Pole will surely depart if a deal for Hincapie goes through, given he’d arguably be the Gunners’ fifth-choice centre-back and fifth-choice left-back if the Ecuadorian is added to Arteta’s ranks.
Kiwior has been described as ‘incredible’ since he’s been at Arsenal, but he’ll be left somewhat redundant with the presence of yet another defender at the Emirates.
