Arsenal know a huge area of improvement for the club is player sales.

Arsenal’s record sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain falls way below that of any of their Premier League ‘Big Six’ rivals and has affected their ability to sign top targets in recent years.

Andrea Berta has been brought in to improve the club’s efficiency in the transfer market and has started off well as Arsenal are set to sign Christian Norgaard as Thomas Partey departs.

Nuno Tavares is Arsenal’s only permanent sale so far in the window after joining Lazio but with speculation surrounding a number of players, Liverpool have just set a precedent the Gunners must follow.

Arsenal must match Jarrell Quansah transfer fee in any deal for Jakub Kiwior this summer

Liverpool have agreed a £35m sale of defender Jarrell Quansah to German side Bayer Leverkusen with the 22-year-old fresh from winning the U21 European Championships alongside Ethan Nwaneri.

Arsenal want Jakub Kiwior to stay at the club this summer after an impressive end to the campaign replacing the injured Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of the defence.

However, Kiwior wants regular first-team football and it is unclear on whether he would be willing to continue as Gabriel’s understudy and featuring in cup competitions.

AC Milan want to sign Kiwior but any deal for the Polish international must now at least match Quansah’s £35m fee.

Kiwior should become Arsenal’s new record sale if the decision is made for him to be sold this summer and with his contract running until 2028, the club has no reason to be forced into selling him under his true value.

How Jakub Kiwior compared to Jarrell Quansah last season

Kiwior was labelled a ‘monster’ by his teammates after starring in the club’s historic Champions League victory over Real Madrid last season.

The Polish defender made 30 appearances in all competitions compared to Quansah’s 25, with both players taking on a rotation role within their squads.

At 25, Kiwior still has his best years ahead of him like Quansah and whilst supporters will be hoping he stays and adds depth to Mikel Arteta’s squad, it is proven any sale should exceed the Liverpool man’s fee.

It could be a record breaking summer in terms of money spent on incomings at the Emirates Stadium but if Kiwior does depart, another record must be broken with the money received.
