Arsenal’s emergency scouting for a striker option in the market has seen them linked with a potential move for Roberto Firmino.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a possible free agent after Kai Havertz’s hamstring tear and Gabriel Jesus’ ACL injury, which has left Mikel Arteta with no senior starting option up front.
The manager has been forced to tinker with his side as a result, while the possibility of another addition after the transfer window has closed is on the table.
Whether or not Arsenal will confirm a deal remains to be seen, but one of the latest names linked with a transfer is Roberto Firmino.
The striker faces an uncertain future at Al-Ahli, with the Saudi Arabian outfit omitting him from their squad for the remainder of the league season – though he is still available for their Champions League fixtures.
While it’s unclear if Firmino could leave Al-Ahli as a free agent in the coming weeks, a move for Arsenal could be a fruitful one.

What Jurgen Klopp has said about Roberto Firmino amid Arsenal links
Firmino spent eight years at Liverpool, with the striker playing many of those under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
In that time, he won a Premier League title, a Champions League trophy, an FA Cup and a Carabao Cup in a hugely successful period.
There still appears to be plenty of quality from the star, while Jurgen Klopp has already explained the character Arsenal could land with Firmino.
He said in a press conference back in 2018: “You see him [Firmino] in training and think ‘What a work ethic, what an attitude’, and he brings it on the pitch as well.
“He never rests. You have to pull him out, you have to tell him ‘Come on, stop, sit here, calm’.
“I hear in the stadium that people like him – good idea – but I have no real idea if anybody thinks he’s not important or whatever. I’m not too interested, to be honest.
“I’m pretty sure if I give the players the opportunity to have a free choice in training (to) build teams by themselves Bobby is one of the first they would pick.
“(It’s) nice to have him around – better to have him than in the other team. That’s maybe the best thing you can say about a football player.”
All these years later, Firmino could take that quality and work ethic with him to the Emirates Stadium in the months ahead.

Roberto Firmino record vs Arsenal
Firmino has been something of an enemy for Arsenal over the years, with the Liverpool striker having a fantastic record against the club.
The Brazilian forward has plenty of goals against the Gunners, while only three defeats in 18 head-to-head encounters show just how impressive he and the team had been at the time.
| Appearances | 18 |
| Wins | 9 |
| Draws | 6 |
| Defeats | 3 |
| Goals | 11 |
| Assists | 3 |
Although he may be beyond his peak years, if Firmino can take that kind of record with him to Arsenal, it would be a huge boost for Arteta.
It remains to be seen if that is possible though, with it firstly depending on his Al-Ahli contract being terminated.
