‘Magnificent’ player may never play for Arsenal again despite impressing Mikel Arteta recently

The competition for places at Arsenal is extremely high when everyone is fit.

Mikel Arteta has built a magnificent squad over the last five years. Every single player is top-class and it’s no surprise that the Gunners are challenging for the big trophies.

When the quality of the squad is so high, some players will have to miss out. Not everybody can play every game – even if they are brilliant.

One player got a run out recently, but we’re afraid that could be his last appearance for Arsenal.

New Arsenal injury update could be bad news for Kieran Tierney

Arteta faced the media on Friday ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Kieran Tierney started for the Gunners against the Eagles in the EFL Cup midweek, and he had a good game. He was solid at the back and made some good runs in attack.

Arsenal fans were impressed with Tierney, and some have been hoping that he could get himself a few more games in the famous red and white in the coming weeks.

However, Arteta’s latest Arsenal injury update is a blow to Tierney’s chances.

The Gunners boss confirmed that Riccardo Calafiori will be back for the game against Palace. Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to return to the squad too.

The two left-backs will immediately leapfrog Tierney in the pecking order, and we just can’t see a world in which the Scot will get any game time ahead of Calafiori and Zinchenko.

It pains us to say this, but Tierney may have played his last game for Arsenal.

Arsenal fans were all a bit sceptical over how Tierney would perform after spending so much time on the sidelines because of his injury.

However, the Scotland international was brilliant from the start, and he could’ve even picked up an assist if it wasn’t for Raheem Sterling’s miss.

Arteta said that Tierney ‘played really well’ against Crystal Palace and refused to be drawn into any speculation surrounding his future.

The Arsenal boss clearly liked what he saw, but with Calafiori and Zinchenko both back now, it could be time to say goodbye to the former Celtic man.

Tierney is a ‘magnificent‘ player, but we expect him to leave Arsenal in January.
