Arsenal know they cannot afford to fall behind their rivals this summer.

Mikel Arteta is under increasing pressure to land a major trophy next season with supporters demanding a Premier League title or maiden Champions League crown.

Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to finally win their first title since 2004 but the Gunners will know that predictions mean nothing and actions have to be taken to achieve their goal.

Andrea Berta has shocked Europe with his ‘aggressive’ nature in the transfer market so far but Arsenal are yet to officially make a signing. They need to prove they are serious with rival clubs already making waves…

Arsenal cannot fall behind Man City and Liverpool in transfer market

Arsenal are fully aware of the importance of the right recruitment this summer, Benjamin Sesko edges closer to signing and there is interest in bringing in Rodrygo from Real Madrid.

However, rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have already stolen a march in the window and have moved quickly to bring in their top transfer targets.

Pep Guardiola has already signed Rayan Ait Nouri from Wolves and Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, with an agreement also in place with Lyon over the signing of creative playmaker Rayan Cherki.

Arne Slot has captured talented full back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and is also chasing his teammate Florian Wirtz, who wants to move to Anfield.

Berta doesn’t have the pressure of organising a squad for the FIFA Club World Cup like Manchester City however, he will want to prove his ambition quickly with some fresh faces confirmed at the Emirates Stadium.

How Andrea Berta can prove he is serious this summer

Martin Zubimendi’s imminent arrival would be a great start to the window for Berta if the Gunners can fend off a late surge from Real Madrid for the midfielder’s signature.

Arsenal will also want to wrap up the Sesko deal and then focus their attention on bringing in a quality winger to provide competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Marc Guehi is attracting interest as the club look to add another option to their back line amid Takehiro Tomiyasu’s continuing injury problems.

However, the biggest statement from Berta could yet come from keeping players in North London, Gabriel’s contract extension was just the beginning as Saka and William Saliba are also in need of new deals.

Hale End duo Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are in talks over new contracts to secure their future and Berta’s biggest accomplishment this summer could be tying down five key players.
