Arsenal are expected to end their search for a striker this summer as a deal for Benjamin Sesko edges closer.
The Gunners have been linked to an array of talent already, and now, it’s clear that Sesko is Mikel Arteta’s top target.
Newly appointed sporting director Andrea Berta is well-trained in the striker department, having closed a number of high-profile deals at Atletico Madrid.
Now, the Italian looks set to end Arteta’s pleas for a goalscorer by delivering the number nine that the Gunners have been crying out for.

Arsenal plot first offer to sign Benjamin Sesko
22-year-old Sesko has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time.
The Slovenian has been the subject of mounting transfer interest after RB Leipzig failed to clinch European football for the 2025/26 campaign.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been hunting for a goalscorer, and the Leipzig star certainly fits the bill.
Speculation has been growing regarding Arsenal’s choice between Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, a saga that could come to an end sooner than expected.
That’s according to the latest update from Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, who informed of Arsenal’s plan to launch their first offer for the striker.
“RB Leipzig are expecting the first offer from Arsenal for Benjamin Sesko next week,” Plettenberg revealed before explaining the finances of the deal.
It’s understood that the clubs need to agree on a fee between the €80m and €100m mark, which is the equivalent of a deal ranging between £67m and £84m.
What Plettenberg said next will excite Arsenal fans, as the Sky Sports reporter shared his opinion on the transfer with a thrilling 11-word message.
“I am totally convinced Sesko will play for Arsenal next season,” he said.
There’s been a feeling that contact would be made between the two clubs very soon, as Leipzig requested that Sesko return from international duty.
Sesko is a huge signing for Arsenal
After years of struggle and speculation that amounted to nothing, it looks as though Arsenal are in position to land a top target.
Still only 22, Sesko has a lot of fine-tuning to do to perfect his craft, but what he’s good at is why Arteta likes him, and that’s scoring goals.
The Slovenian could join Arsenal on the back of a searing campaign with Leipzig that saw him net 21 goals in all competitions, acting as the Bundesliga side’s target man.
Arsenal are making the finishing touches to signing Sesko, who will finally hand Arteta the goalscoring presence that the Gunners so desperately need.
