It’s becoming clear that Benjamin Sesko is Arsenal’s number one striker target this summer.

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg shared his view on the transfer, admitting he’s ‘totally convinced’ that Sesko will join Arsenal.

The Gunners have admired Sesko for some time, and this summer, Mikel Arteta might just have his transfer request met.

Sporting director Andrea Berta has Sesko on his list of targets as Arsenal close in on acquiring his signature.

RB Leipzig get their Benjamin Sesko wish amid Arsenal talks

An array of Arsenal targets are on international duty, including Sesko, who joined up with Slovenia for two friendly matches.

Though the striker is a key part of his national team’s starting XI, the 22-year-old hasn’t featured over the June international break due to a minor injury.

It’s understood that RB Leipzig requested that Sesko be withdrawn from his international duties in case of any further injury jeopardising a transfer.

This gave Arsenal fans encouragement that a possible deal was close, and now, the Gunners have even more optimism.

As reported by journalist Ryan Taylor, Leipzig have got their wish with Sesko, as the Mirror understand that the forward will not feature for Slovenia in their clash with Bosnia.

Sesko hasn’t trained and did not travel with the squad to Luxembourg for the upcoming friendly.

The Mirror’s report noted that the Arsenal target has received interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, but his preference is to remain in Europe.

It’s understood that Arsenal are ‘set for further talks’ with the Leipzig star’s entourage this week, making him one to watch as the summer transfer window heats up.

How much Arsenal have to pay to sign Sesko

Berta has strong experience in the striker market, and already, it seems that Arsenal’s sporting director is using such to benefit Arteta.

Arsenal have a list of striker targets on their list and, despite Sesko costing more than Viktor Gyokeres, the player’s proven quality in one of Europe’s top five leagues appears to be more appealing to the Gunners.

As reported by Plettenberg of Sky Sports, Leipzig demand a fee in the region of £67m to £84m for the Slovenian, valuing him between €80m and €100m.

All eyes are on whether Arsenal can strike a deal for a new number nine before pre-season, in what is an exciting time for those in N5.
