Mikel Arteta may have given up on Ben White at Arsenal
Just a couple of seasons ago, White was the best right-back in the Premier League.
The England international was outstanding for the Gunners and formed the most dangerous right-sided partnership in the division with Bukayo Saka.
White has since had several injury issues, and to make things worse for him, Jurrien Timber has played out of his skin and is now one of the first names on the team sheet every week.
That led to rumours that White could be sold in the summer, and reports this week have claimed that Arsenal are interested in Tino Livramento of Newcastle United.
The Gunners’ interest in a right-footed full-back suggests that the end could be near for White.
Arteta has stuck by him, but his injury issues over the last year could be the reason why the Arsenal manager is about to give up on him.
To add to that, White is a valuable asset. He is a proven commodity in the Premier League, can play at right-back and as a centre-half, and the fact that he still has over three years left on his contract (including Arsenal’s option to extend his current deal by 12 months) means he could generate a good fee.
For those reasons, Arteta and the Arsenal board could move him on this summer.

Arsenal target Tino Livramento is brilliant, but there is a major concern
Livramento has impressed everybody when he has played.
The former Chelsea man is still only 23, can play in both full-back positions, and he has the potential to become one of the best in the Premier League in a few years.
However, the problem with Livramento is his injury issues.
Since the start of the 2023/24 season, the Newcastle star has missed 25 games due to injury or illness. 13 of those fixtures are from this season.
That is a major concern as the last thing Arsenal need is more injuries than they have already had.
