Andrea Berta enjoyed a superb first summer transfer window at Arsenal, but there was one signing which got away from him.
Arsenal fans have loved Berta’s work in North London to date, and the new Italian director has been made fully aware of their admiration.
Over the summer, he signed seven new players for the Gunners, including Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze, Piero Hincapie, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Mosquera, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard.
But one player is missing from that list, whom Andrea Berta failed to get over the line, and his latest wondergoal will leave Mikel Arteta feeling somewhat disappointed.

Arsenal target Nico Williams scores a solo goal for Athletic Bilbao
Arsenal’s summer transfer target Nico Williams scored a sensational solo goal for Athletic Bilbao in their 1-0 win over Real Oviedo.
The Spanish winger picked up the ball on the touchline before driving at Oviedo’s defence and beating three defenders to fire his effort into the roof of the net.
He showed incredible pace and skill to beat players, and then an impressive end product to leave Aaron Escandell with no chance.
Williams, who only wanted Barcelona over the summer, has been struggling to find the back of the net this season, and this was his first goal in nine games.
The 23-year-old hasn’t been in the best of form for the Basque Country club, but his latest strike could help him get back on track.
Over the summer, he was one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe, and further down the line, he could well get this move.
Andrea Berta couldn’t bring Nico Williams to Arsenal
Back in April, Berta met with Williams to discuss a potential move to the Emirates Stadium, but he ended up staying put.
Arteta was keen to sign Williams, and watching his latest goal will surely leave him gutted that the North London club couldn’t seal a deal.

During the previous summer window, Williams had a £50m release clause, but no club paid it, and he instead signed a new contract.
Arsenal Insider understands that Arteta still admires Williams, although he appears reluctant to leave Bilbao, unless it is for FC Barcelona.
