Ian Wright is one of the greatest strikers Arsenal have ever had.
The legendary Englishman was the club’s record goalscorer until Thierry Henry surpassed him, but even the World Cup winner loved him.
Henry has said that he fell in love with Arsenal because of Wright – that’s how incredible a player he was in his prime.
Now a pundit, Wright has shared some advice for Viktor Gyokeres, and Mikel Arteta should bring him in to help the struggling Swedish striker.
Is Ian Wright the greatest Arsenal legend besides Thierry Henry? If not, who is?
Mikel Arteta should bring Ian Wright to help Viktor Gyokeres at Arsenal
Gyokeres has had a tough time at Arsenal.
The Swede scored two goals in his first four Premier League games, but he has found the net just five more times in his next 21 appearances.
That is simply not good enough, and pundits like Michael Owen now think Arsenal will not win big games with Gyokeres leading the line.
Ian Wright, however, has offered some advice to the former Sporting CP man, and we think Arteta should bring him into the Sobha Realty Training Centre to work with Gyokeres.

The Arsenal legend said on Premier League Productions: “If I was playing in this team, all I’d be working on is my movement in the box, my first touch to make sure I link it, get it out there, get in the box, and let them know, when you get it, when you cut inside back onto your left foot, Bukayo (Saka), I’m going to zoom across that first post.
“If you get to the line, I’m gonna drop out, and I’m going to make sure I come and attack it because I know you’re gonna have to chip it up. I’m letting them know what I want.
“Martin Odegaard, if you’re running through, I’m going to go to the left, and then I’m gonna cut across him so you put it through. I go across him, and then I’m able to go in and have my shot.
“These are the things I’d be saying to him in training because there’s so much going on with Arsenal. They’ve got so much going on through the pitch. You deal with the area, that’s what we’re paying you to do.
“Anything around the area is your domain, so you own it. Own that domain. Let them know, put that ball in for me because I’m making the runs. At the moment, he’s not.”
If you could give one advice to Viktor Gyokeres at Arsenal right now, what would it be?
Ian Wright is exactly what Viktor Gyokeres needs right now
Wright has been there and done it at the highest level.
The England international’s goalscoring ability is what gets him all the plaudits, but what many people don’t talk about is his movement in and around the box.
Gyokeres is a fantastic finisher, but what he struggles with is his movement inside the box. That needs to change if he is going to succeed at Arsenal.
Wright’s advice above is absolutely perfect. It is exactly what Gyokeres needs, and working with him for a few sessions could change everything.
However, whether Arteta would allow it to happen is a completely different story.
