Arsenal must look at the January transfer window with intent as one target’s future hangs in the balance.

The Gunners are being continually warned about their squad, as Arsenal dropped points from a winning position once more in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta watched Arsenal draw 1-1 against Brighton, a game that was disappointing for a variety of reasons.

Arguably the biggest concern was learning of Ethan Nwaneri’s injury, as the teenager was hauled off at half-time.

Considering that Arteta had called upon Nwaneri to replace Bukayo Saka, Arsenal’s injury struggles are now becoming a grave problem for the manager.

Arsenal must look at Dani Olmo’s transfer situation

The latest injury updates simply spell more bad news for Arsenal, who are lacking in the forward department at a crucial time in the season.

Fortunately, Arteta can exploit the timing of the January transfer window to help his squad, with one player being a perfect match for the Gunners.

Spain international Dani Olmo could be available for free this month as Barcelona continue to struggle to register their summer signing.

La Liga have rejected Barcelona’s bid to register Olmo, putting his future in Catalonia in jeopardy, which could open the doors to a winter move.

Arsenal have been linked to Olmo, who made the move from RB Leipzig to Barcelona in the summer and now, Arteta must up his pursuit of the player.

Olmo is the goalscorer Arsenal need

Amid the Gunners’ injury concerns, Arteta has arguably never needed a goalscoring forward more than he does now, making Olmo’s situation rather interesting.

In a piece detailing Olmo’s rise at RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga’s official website relayed a quote from the player’s former coach at La Masia, Denis Silva Puig.

“He was a typical forward, a very good finisher,” Puig said.

“He scored goals in every age category. He understood space well, so he could always find room to score. He’s a natural-born goalscorer.”

A natural-born goalscorer is what many teams desire and is exactly the profile that Arsenal require at this moment in time.

The Spaniard is deployable in attacking midfield as well as on the flanks, being a forward of strong versatility and an eye for goal.
