Arsenal have been handed a potential boost in the transfer situation surrounding Barcelona’s Dani Olmo in the January window.
It comes as uncertainty surrounds the future of the playmaker, with the Blaugrana facing a challenge to get him registered for the second half of the season.
With La Liga’s registration rules, a wage cap is placed on being able to register players for a team’s squad.
With Barcelona struggling to register their star players, Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Dani Olmo, who could be available for free as a result, with previous reports claiming “contact” has been made.
The latest news from La Liga could come as a boost for Arsenal in their hopes of landing the Spaniard.

La Liga reject Barcelona’s registration for Dani Olmo
Barcelona faced a late rush to try and register Dani Olmo to their squad before facing the possibility of losing him on a free transfer.
However, it seems as though time is up on that front as La Liga and the RFEF have both rejected registration for the playmaker.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona will go to court over the situation, which could prolong the situation even further.
However, it puts even more doubt and uncertainty over Olmo and his future at the club and beyond.
It could end up in a potential transfer for Arsenal though, if they do manage to convince a move through for the star.
A free transfer could come as a huge boost for the Gunners, but they aren’t alone as the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool have also been linked.

What Dani Olmo thinks about Arsenal transfer chance
While a transfer route could now open up for Olmo, there is no guarantee that he will want to make the switch to Arsenal.
His agent, Andy Bara, revealed the intentions of the Spaniard while the case of his registration has been ongoing.
He told Give Me Sport: “Dani is a Barcelona player and he wants to be a Barcelona player. He has made a big effort in his life to be at Barcelona. It was his desire for a long time.
“Barcelona is the first and last option! Dani, his father, family, me, we’re not thinking about other options.”
Whether that changes now, with Olmo unable to get registered, remains to be seen as the court case is set to open.
There are some big weeks ahead for the Spanish midfielder, with plenty more twists and turns expected in this story.
