Arsenal are exploring a number of avenues in the transfer market this summer.

Mikel Arteta is under pressure to succeed next season and needs the help of Andrea Berta to recruit some firepower into his squad.

Arsenal showed they were more than capable of competing with Europe’s elite on their way to the Champions League semi-final and now need that extra push to get over the line.

Manchester United await in the Premier League opener as Arsenal face a tough start to the campaign. Ruthless decisions will be needed this summer, including that of the skipper Martin Odegaard

Morgan Rogers a bigger goal threat than Martin Odegaard

Arsenal are long-term admirers of Morgan Rogers and could make their interest concrete with a move for the England international this summer.

Aston Villa are embroiled in some PSR difficulties following their failure to finish in the top five and may need to sell one or two stars.

Rogers had a phenomenal campaign in terms of goal contributions and performed above his xG, whereas Odegaard was the opposite and struggled to convert the chances presented to him.

Another aspect that Rogers excelled in was winning the ball back high up the pitch. Arsenal’s skipper leads the press brilliantly but has a low success rate of actually dispossessing opponents.

How Martin Odegaard can return to form next season

Nobody is writing the Gunners’ captain off and Odegaard would benefit from Arsenal signing Antony Gordon as he thrives with strong, direct runners around him.

However, Ethan Nwaneri is pushing Odegaard for his place next season and the Norwegian needs to find his decisiveness in the final third once again.

During the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns, there was an air of confidence about Odegaard in front of goal and he always delivered his final action with a crisp finish or pass.

That confidence ebbed away during last season, the ankle injury did not help matters but the 26-year-old must rediscover his precision.
