Mikel Arteta has assembled one of the best squads in Europe at Arsenal, but even the Spaniard has managed to make some big transfer blunders.
His latest transfer error is starting to become obvious following another game in which one of his summer additions was overlooked.
That player is Christian Norgaard, whose minutes since moving to the Emirates Stadium have been minimal and that speaks volumes.
The Danish international has played just 14 minutes in the Premier League this season, highlighting how Mikel Arteta actually views him.

Mikel Arteta clearly doesn’t trust Christian Norgaard at Arsenal
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Arteta clearly doesn’t trust Norgaard at Arsenal after overlooking him once again away at Chelsea.
Chelsea’s midfield found a lot of joy up against Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice, with a change in the middle of the pitch needed.
Arteta could have done with adding some steel to his midfield, as it’s clear that Zubimendi struggled to cope with the physicality shown by the Blues.
Does Christian Norgaard deserve more minutes at Arsenal?
The former Brentford captain could have been the ideal candidate to come in and replace the Spanish midfielder; however, Arteta opted to stick with what he had on the pitch.
William Saliba has described Norgaard as ‘class’, but unfortunately, we have yet to see the best from the experienced midfielder.
In the summer, Arsenal paid £15 million to sign Norgaard, and whilst that is a relatively minimal transfer fee, it’s hard to see them recouping close to that for a player aged 31.
It’s now hard to see when Norgaard will play, aside from the final few Champions League games and early FA Cup ties.
Arsenal should have targeted Granit Xhaka over Christian Norgaard
There is certainly a case to be made for the fact that re-signing Granit Xhaka could have been a more astute piece of business from the Gunners.
Xhaka has been one of the best Premier League midfielders this season, and his understanding of the club could have been crucial.
Should Arsenal have re-signed Granit Xhaka last summer?
Just imagine a player like Xhaka coming into the team away at Stamford Bridge, a ground where his Sunderland team won just a few weeks prior.
Arsenal’s depth has improved considerably, but the club’s lack of cover for Zubimendi could prove to be an issue this season.
