Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira is back in management.
The Frenchman is one of the best midfielders to ever play the game, but it has been over a decade since he retired. His managerial spell hasn’t quite been as successful as his time on the pitch.
After a four-month break following his departure from Strasbourg, Vieira has been appointed as the new manager of Genoa in the Serie A.
The Arsenal legend will have a former Gunner playing under him there.
Patrick Vieira could benefit from Mikel Arteta selling Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Brooke Norton-Cuffy spent a decade at Arsenal, having joined the club when he was just 10 years old.
The talented defender came through the ranks at the club’s academy and developed into a very exciting full-back. He impressed with the youth teams but it was in his loan spells that he really made a name for himself.
Norton-Cuffy became a star at Lincoln City, Coventry City and Millwall, and Arsenal fans all viewed him as the future of the club.
However, in what was a surprise to many, Arsenal decided to sell Norton-Cuffy to Genoa in the summer of 2024, and several fans felt that was a mistake.
The youngster has had injury issues since moving to Italy, which has limited him to just three appearances in the Serie A this season.
However, once he is fit, Vieira could bring the best out of him, and we think Norton-Cuffy could become one of the top full-backs in Serie A in a few years’ time.
If that happens, Mikel Arteta’s mistake will be exposed and the Arsenal manager could well end up regretting his decision.

Five other exciting youngsters left Arsenal in 2024
Norton-Cuffy wasn’t the only talented youngster who left Arsenal in the summer transfer window of 2024, there were several others too.
Chido Obi-Martin rejected an offer from Arsenal and chose to join Manchester United. That was a real shame as the teenager has all the qualities in the world to become a star.
Charlie Patino’s time at Arsenal also came to an end in the summer. He left the club and joined Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna on a permanent deal.
After a fantastic loan spell at Sturm Graz, Mika Biereth left Arsenal and joined the Austrian side on a permanent deal, and he has been playing really well there.
Amario Cozier-Duberry and Reuell Walters also left Arsenal for Brighton and Hove Albion and Luton Town respectively. It was sad to see them go as well.
