Arsenal were held to their 12th draw of the season as Brentford snatched a point at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta rotated his side as the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Oleksandr Zinchenko came into the side but the Gunners still managed to dominate the Bees in the first half.

Arsenal fans reacted to the semi-automated offside system as Kieran Tierney saw a first half goal disallowed from Nwaneri’s cross.

Thomas Partey eventually opened the scoring after a brilliant assist from Declan Rice but Yoanne Wissa found a late equaliser to share the spoils. One Gunners star impressed with his performance in the Premier League clash.

Tierney was given his first start since May 2023 and he did not disappoint with his rare opportunity to showcase his talents from the first whistle.

The Scottish international defender was always an outlet for Arsenal on the left hand side and he kept Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo extremely quiet despite the Frenchman’s excellent form this season.

He saw a dream return to the side dashed by the offside flag as he planted an exquisite header past Flekken only to be denied by the linesman.

His defensive ability has never been questioned during his time in North London and he could prove to be a valuable lesson when defending vital leads from now until the end of the campaign.

Tierney has always been a fan favourite for the passion and determination he shows every time pulling on the red and white shirt.

Arsenal fans took to X to show their appreciation of the defender, one fan wrote: “I’m always happy to see Kieran Tierney on the pitch [heart emoji]” whilst another stated: “Kieran Tierney I will forever love you.”

Tierney is expected to join Celtic in the summer transfer window upon the expiration of his Arsenal contract and the Scottish champions know the quality they will be getting having already played for the club.

However, there are still six Premier League games and hopefully four Champions League games for Tierney to leave his mark on the Gunners forever.
