Arsenal’s injury crisis this season highlighted

Arsenal’s injury crisis this season has undoubtedly been a huge factor behind their drop off from the last two campaigns.

A graphic from Sky Sports has shown that the Gunners could field an entire starting eleven with players who have missed more than seven games in the season.

All clubs have had injuries and it is part of football however, Arsenal have suffered clusters of injuries within a specific position and no matter how hard Arteta has tried, it has affected the team.

Mikel Merino, for example, has done an incredible job at centre forward but injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus has meant the side have lacked a presence up top that knows the position inside out.

Arsenal must improve squad depth in summer transfer window

Andrea Berta likes Viktor Gyokeres and of course, centre forward is the main priority position for the Gunners during the summer transfer window.

However, there are other positions that need to be strengthened in order to maintain a challenge in all four competitions.

Nico Williams is a player who has been linked to the club in wide areas whilst Arsenal are also keen on Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

Having depth in attacking areas like the Gunners have in defence and midfield will go a long way to ensuring the club can stay in the fight for silverware.
