There’s just no way Arsenal will sign Julian Alvarez now after what has just happened

Julian Alvarez is almost every Arsenal fan’s dream target this summer.

The Gunners are the Premier League champions and are in a position of strength. They are currently the only big-six club in England with stability on and off the pitch.

That should give them an edge in the summer transfer window, as most top players would rather join Mikel Arteta’s side than any of the other clubs who are in transition.

However, in the case of Julian Alvarez, Arsenal may have accepted defeat already.

What is the highest fee you would pay to sign Julian Alvarez for Arsenal?

Is he worth more than Declan Rice?👀

Julian Alvarez to Arsenal is not going to happen

Alvarez is the perfect player for Arsenal.

The Argentine is a phenomenal forward, can play anywhere across the frontline, and as he has shown over the years, he can consistently create and score goals.

That is why several big clubs are interested in signing Alvarez, the latest being Real Madrid.

The Galacticos released an official statement on their website claiming that they have made an official bid of €150 million (~£130m) for the Atletico Madrid superstar.

Diego Simeone’s side have rejected the offer, pointed at his €500 million (~£431m) release clause, and have since laughed at their local rivals on social media.

That clearly suggests that any deal for Alvarez will cost well in excess of £130 million, which would not just make him Arsenal’s record signing but also the most expensive recruit in English football history.

We expect the Gunners to spend huge money on a player this summer, but in our opinion, there is no way they will commit over £130 million on Alvarez.

Furthermore, reports have claimed that Alvarez doesn’t want to join Arsenal anyway, so that should end this topic unless something changes.

Arsenal could still break their transfer record this summer

Alvarez is not the only expensive player Arsenal have been linked with.

The Gunners are also interested in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is, in many people’s eyes, the best player in the world right now. He will cost a fortune too.

Another player Arsenal want is Morgan Rogers, and there are reports that he could cost in excess of £100 million as well. Even Sandro Tonali’s asking price is £100 million.

So, there is every chance that Declan Rice will no longer be Arsenal’s most expensive signing after summer transfer deadline day in September.

It will be interesting to see who that player will be, but we are almost certain that it will not be Alvarez.
